For international air transport, air transport timeliness is an element that a cargo owner and freight forwarder must grasp. Here is a brief introduction to the international air freight forwarding operation process and the time required for departure from Hong Kong.
Departure location: Hong Kong Airport
If the goods are in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan (Humen, Changping), Zhongshan and other places,
The customer delivers the goods himself or our company picks up the goods to our designated warehouse in China and Hong Kong. The goods are delivered to the designated warehouse in Hong Kong through China-Hong Kong Express or the Hong Kong agent helps to pick up the goods at the designated warehouse.
Hong Kong Airlines' agent arranges booking, warehousing, weighing, labeling, air waybill printing and other matters.
First: the time required to cross the port
1. Without customs declaration
Delivery to Shenzhen warehouse: delivery in the morning, and can arrive at the port in the afternoon without encountering customs inspection. Delivered in the afternoon and arrived at the port the next morning.
The goods are delivered to Guangzhou/Dongguan, delivered on the same day, and arrive at the port in the afternoon of the next day.
2. When customs declaration is required
Normal customs declaration generally takes one day, so the transit time takes about one day longer than without customs declaration.
Second: The time required to pick up the goods, book space, and board the plane in Hong Kong
If you arrive at the port on the same day, you rarely get on the same day flight. Generally, freight forwarders arrange flights for the next or third day.
In peak seasons or when routes are full, it is difficult to predict the time. You need to book and queue in advance and wait for the airline to announce the specific flight time.
Third: Flight time
Short-term, direct flights to East Asia, Southeast Asia, Australia, etc. usually take 4-5 hours. If a second transfer is required, it usually takes 2-3 days to arrive at the destination port.
For Europe, the United States and the Middle East, direct flights can take 8-12 hours, and connecting flights can reach the destination port in 4-5 days, or 5-7 days.
There are very few direct flights to Africa and South America, and connecting flights usually take 5-7 days, and some may take 10 days.
The above are all air freight times when the position is good.
As for the situation of liquidating and arranging warehouses during the peak season, it needs to be considered on a case-by-case basis.
